Created attachment 256282 [details] F instead of E is shown The syntax highlighting or formatting often transforms capital "E"s into "F"s all other characters are not affected. However "F"s stay "F"s. So it is hard to see if this is a real typo or if eclipse just shows an odd behavior. For example a code snippet that should read as void Buffer_Number_Sequencer::setLowestCountMarginMsgSnpEngine(uint32 margin_lo){ mLowestCountMarginMsgSnpEngine = margin_lo; } is seen as void Buffer_Number_Sequencer::setLowestCountMarginMsgSnpFngine(uint32 margin_lo){ mLowestCountMarginMsgSnpEngine = margin_lo; } Other characters are not affected. This behavior was present also on the predecessor versions of LUNA. Attached a screenshot.

The Linux host where eclipse is running is accessed via a Windows7 application called Exceed on Demand (Version 13.8.3.521) this is an application similar to xmx or vnc-viewer. The problem described in this issue only occurs on eclipse but no other Linux application so I don't attribute it to Exceed on Demand. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- here the requested data. (in the output only the name of the host was changed to ibmlx258.boe.de.ibm.com all other data is unmodified) bash-4.1$ uname -a Linux ibmlx258.boe.de.ibm.com 2.6.32-358.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Jan 29 11:47:41 EST 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux bash-4.1$ rpm -qa | grep gtk gtk-doc-1.11-5.1.el6.noarch ibus-gtk-1.3.4-6.el6.x86_64 pygtk2-devel-2.16.0-3.el6.x86_64 spice-gtk-0.14-7.el6.x86_64 gtk+extra-2.1.1-13.el6.x86_64 gtkhtml2-devel-2.11.1-7.el6.x86_64 gtk2-immodule-xim-2.18.9-12.el6.x86_64 gtksourceview-devel-1.8.5-7.el6.1.x86_64 pygtk2-codegen-2.16.0-3.el6.x86_64 gnome-python2-gtkhtml2-2.25.3-20.el6.x86_64 gtkhtml2-2.11.1-7.el6.x86_64 gtkspell-2.0.16-1.el6.x86_64 pygtk2-doc-2.16.0-3.el6.noarch gtk2-devel-docs-2.18.9-12.el6.x86_64 authconfig-gtk-6.1.12-13.el6.x86_64 gtk-vnc-0.3.10-3.el6.x86_64 gtksourceview-1.8.5-7.el6.1.i686 webkitgtk-1.2.6-2.el6_0.x86_64 gtkspell-devel-2.0.16-1.el6.i686 gtkhtml2-2.11.1-7.el6.i686 pygtksourceview-2.8.0-1.el6.x86_64 pygtk2-libglade-2.16.0-3.el6.x86_64 libreport-gtk-2.0.9-15.el6.x86_64 python-gtkextra-1.1.0-10.el6.x86_64 gtk2-2.18.9-12.el6.x86_64 gtk2-engines-2.18.4-5.el6.x86_64 xdg-user-dirs-gtk-0.8-7.el6.x86_64 gtkspell-2.0.16-1.el6.i686 gtksourceview-devel-1.8.5-7.el6.1.i686 GConf2-gtk-2.28.0-6.el6.x86_64 usermode-gtk-1.102-3.el6.x86_64 PackageKit-gtk-module-0.5.8-21.el6.x86_64 gtkhtml3-3.28.3-3.el6.x86_64 gtkmm24-2.18.2-1.el6.x86_64 gtksourceview2-2.8.2-4.el6.x86_64 gtk2-2.18.9-12.el6.i686 gtk2-engines-2.18.4-5.el6.i686 pygtk2-2.16.0-3.el6.x86_64 gtk2-devel-2.18.9-12.el6.x86_64 libcanberra-gtk2-0.22-1.el6.x86_64 gtksourceview-1.8.5-7.el6.1.x86_64 gtkspell-devel-2.0.16-1.el6.x86_64 gtkhtml2-devel-2.11.1-7.el6.i686 python-slip-gtk-0.2.20-1.el6_2.noarch libcanberra-gtk2-0.22-1.el6.i686
Do you still reproduce this issue with Eclipse 4.9 ?
(In reply to Alexander Kurtakov from comment #6) > Do you still reproduce this issue with Eclipse 4.9 ? No reply in awhile, closing this ticket now. Please reopen if the bug is reproducible on 4.10 and a modern GTK3 (3.20+).
