This shows the same symptoms as JDT Bug 433587, the only difference being that we had to copy code of JDT's LazyGenericTypeProposal into our own ProcessableLazyGenericTypeProposal. As far as I can see, the methods in questions are identical (i.e., we really did copy JDT as-is).

Over three years after Bug 377393 has been addressed and classes like LazyGenericTypeProposal are no longer being final, I think it makes sense to simply inherit from the proper JDT class.

In the case of LazyGenericTypeProposal, there have been two bug fixes (Bug 301990, Bug 433246) merged since the final modifier has been removed. Keeping up with such fixes is just cumbersome.

As the removal of the final modifier is part of JDT since at least the R3_8_maintenance and R4_3_maintenance branches, I don't think we will run into compatibility issues on the Code Recommenders side, as we support Eclipse from Kepler on only.

The fix for Bug 472474 also include the fix for Bug 301990. This, this bug is resolved.

Johannes, you are confusing bugs. *This* bug is about Bug 433587, which was resolved by the JDT team as WORKSFORME. However, as we got an automatic error report with the except same symptons, this apparently doesn't WORKFOREVERYONE ;-)

Hence, i am reopening this bug.
