Description Thomas Whitmore CLA 2003-11-13 18:28:06 EST
Mouse wheel is most useful for rapid viewing and scrolling, however Eclipse has
this tied to editing focus.

Clicking to select the window (eg Debug stack trace) takes extra mouse action
and often changes other views eg Source code display in editors, taking you
multiple steps away from where you were working etc when all you wanted to do
was quickly view & scroll.

Don't know whether Java, SWT or something else is supplying this wheel
behaviour but it would be highly more effective (and slick) to have it on hover
rather than focus.

Sound good? You must have requests for this already, maybe I just didn't search
in the right place :-)

Regards,
Thomas

Will start by sending this to Debug as you talk about using the wheel for a
Debug stack trace. May need to be redirected to SWT.

This would be generic platform/SWT support - not something that would be
specific to the debugger.

This has been previously requested, but it's not something that swt will
provide, see bug 45355 .
