By looking at the background and foregroud colors of the two contect menus we can say that the theme is different in both RCP app running in debug mode.

Keeping the tagrget platform, source code, configuration I dont know why when I used this differenct is coming.

The problem is not only in the appearance but when We create project it will not appear in Prooject Explorer view as exaplain here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24863052/themes-in-eclipse-luna-not-working-while-debugging-running-rcp-application

Is it a bug in Eclipse Luna 4.4? Any workarounds for this problem? Or is it due to the configuration Problem?

Moving to Platform UI.

I'm having trouble understanding what the issue is. You have an RCP app that has a different theme when launching with Luna?
Comment 4 Chandrayya CLA 2014-07-23 01:14:58 EDT
Yes. correct.

As I said keeping the source code of RCP app(cloned from the same git repo into Luna and into Kepler), target platform(I am using my own custom target platfrom NOT the running target platform) and debug configuration(i.e program arguments, VM arguments) SAME, In Luna it is not working but in Kepler it is working.

In Luna we have slightly updated our CSS themes. So you will see some small differences. We were trying to keep the backward compatibility in the themes as much as possible.

Could you please describe again what is the issue?

thanks,
Daniel

I think I described the problem properly. Please let me know if you have any specific question.

Summary:
I dont know why I am getting the change in theme of RCP application running in debug/run mode even though,

I am using the same source code i.e cloned from the same git repository + Using the same debug configuration(i.e same product file, all program agruments, vm agruments, target platform(I used custom target file) are same) on the same OS(Ubuntu 14.10, X86_64), when imported and debugging in Luna and Kepler.

The problem is not only with the theme but the rcp applicaton has running in Luna has many many UI problems, like views title are blank, progress bar is not visible etc etc,projects are not visible in project exploer etc etc.
======
How to reproduce:
I)
Use 1.a(See my fist comment in this bug)
Create a RCP application using the Mail template.
File->New->Plugin Project
give name "abc" and choose the option
Would you like to create 3.x rich client applicatio as "Yes", then choose "RCP mail template"

Use 1.b
Same as 1.a

II)
Open both the RCP application in debug/run mode. You can see the themes used are different.

III) Note that I used different workspace for 1.a and 1.b.
