Created attachment 244450 [details] Error marking is missing on the java file Hi, I found this difference in Kepler Version 1. I have project with *.java file marked as error (Ex: removed class name & shown error) 2. Opened the Navigator view & tried open the same *.java file 3. Thought will show the same error in the navigator view. But it didnt Observation:- in Editor errors are shown but missed in the navigator view Seems like error marking as been removed from the navigator view. Am i right? Please correct if i am wrong Thanks & Regards Karthik Natarajan
If at all, this is platform UI issue.
The Navigator is an (mostly) unsupported component. If the error marker doesn't show up in the Project Explorer that's something we'll show into. PW
If existing feature disappeared then we should have a look & fix this. We should not tell that will not be supported / discontinued People worried to use free tools because of discontinue / un-support of any existing feature in the product. This makes people to think of licensed product to use As a Eclipse developer i dont agree saying - discontinued / unsupported
This component is unmanned. If you'd like to contribute a fix see https://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/How_to_Contribute PW
I don't think Navigator ever supported error markers. I tried on 3.6.2 and the markers are not shown. Also see the following comment: bug 264404 comment 4: "(...)Resource Navigator (...) does not support problem marker decoration."
OK, the navigator never supported error markers. PW
