Bug 431981 marks org.eclipse.jface.util.ListenerList for deletion in Eclipse 4.6. This bug is for the actual removal.

Dani, I think our strategy for announce API removals is to add an API tools filter instead of increasing the major version, please correct me if that is wrong.

You probably meant how to deal with the deletion. Yes, we add a filter.

Not 100% sure what you expect, but I moved the section from planned to removed in this release. Please reopen if there is still something missing.

BTW, this kills https://sourceforge.net/projects/jgedit/ and thus impedes JDT work on new Java syntax elements.

Is that project dead? If not, they should just adapt the change.

... no discussion, nor other active communication.
Latest substantial update in 2006 ...

The tool worked nicely many years after, but no longer ...

While it's by no means essential for JDT work, it was nice to have.

It actually already stopped working with 4.7. Workaround would be to use the tool with 4.6.
