Description Rüdiger Herrmann CLA 2014-04-01 12:36:44 EDT
The platform should offer a key binding to delete the resource that is represented by the active editor (if any). It seems that Alt+Del is not used yet.
Could such a key binding be of general interest or is this too specific?

I don't think that it's of general interest enough for a keybinding. I'm not sure whether to just recommend a command+handler (that could be seen from CTRL+3) or suggest providing a small plugin in the eclipse marketplace.

In the meanwhile this extension is available from the Eclipse marketplace:
  https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/extras-eclipse

Extras for Eclipse is a collection of small extensions for the IDE and contains more than just the key binding proposed here. However, similar extensions are grouped and can be installed separately.

To specifically install this extension, select the 'Extras for the Core IDE' feature.
