1. Open quick outline on Ubuntu (13.10), default theme.
2. Type in some characters: the text field is completely white and you can't see the characters.

Thanks for the fix Marc-Andre.  I've merged your change.

Interestingly when testing this on the mac I saw no visual difference before/after the change on Kepler SR2.
