Even after a decade of using Eclipse, I still catch myself trying to rebuild a single project from the context menu. But of course there is no such action. The stubbornness of my subconscious tells me it would improve usability.

If you have the "Build Automatically" disabled, you can use the 'Build Project' in the Project Menu/Context Menu. Will that be sufficient?
