Description Aris Gera CLA 2014-01-26 07:17:20 EST
When i set my console encoding from CP1252 to UTF-16BE and execute my program the whole eclipse crashed. With the attachement i made, you can easily reproduce the crash and take care of it.

If there are already files in your project you can't just change the encoding, unless all the files were already written to disk with UTF-16BE. In other words: that setting only specifies with which encoding to read existing files and which encoding to use when writing a file. It will not touch/convert already existing files.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
