Similarly to what NetBeans does, it would be useful when a project is a Maven project with packaging "pom" to show children modules in navigator. So under the Maven project we'd have: * Modules, which would provide some additional action such as "Open as project in workspace", "Remove module". Modules could behave like plain folders (showing children resources). They would probably have another icon * Folders that are not modules, just like normal folders * Files
It'd be nice to have other parts of maven mode exposed to project navigator too, things like resources folders, main vs test, for example. If anyone plans to contribute a patch, development environment setup and patch submission protocol are explained in https://wiki.eclipse.org/M2E_Development_Environment#Submitting_patches
FYI, here is how it looks like in Netbeans: https://blogs.oracle.com/geertjan/entry/maven_hierarchical_view_for_netbeans
Can we consider this one is superceded by bug #427768 (Nested projects in Projects view)?
(In reply to Fred Bricon from comment #3) > Can we consider this one is superceded by bug #427768 (Nested projects in > Projects view)? I hope that bug #427768 provides a better user experience with Maven and modular project in general, so that this changes shouldn't be useful any more. So closing as WONTFIX.
