Unwanted content under the Tutorials section

Hi,
We have an eclipse RCP Product. We have our own Welcome page content.
However, there seems to be some content appearing from the org.eclipse.platform plugin under Overview as well as Tutorials. Please see the attachments for more information.
We don't wish to ship this with our RCP product. Is there a way to configure this in the product? Or is it an expectation that all eclipse RCP products would have
this content?
We cannot remove the org.eclipse.platform plugin from the product, because there are certain downstream plugins that depend on it.

They depend on org.eclipse.platform? It's a branding plugin for the org.eclipse.platform feature ... what kind of dependencies do other plugins have on it?

org.eclipse.platform is a convenient build feature for the SDK, but it makes no promises about its consumability.

One potential fix would be to enhance UA to honour activities, so that those items could be masked out. This would be feature level work.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your observation.
yea - looking at our dependencies, there doesn't seem to be a reason for this dependency. I think I can remove the dependency and then remove the packaging of the plugin org.eclipse.platform from our product.

Do you see any side affects of not having this plugin within a RCP product?

No, AFAIK it provides branding and few extra extensions for the org.eclipse.platform feature, that's the feature that provides a basic IDE without JDT support. But that plugin doesn't actually provide anything to the IDE part.

Thanks. Removing the plugin org.eclipse.platform does not seem to have any undesired regressions within our RCP product.
A few of the branding things from the eclipse platform feature are no longer available. (which we might not need for our RCP product).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
