In our main "test.xml" file, we have a few spots where we look to see if a we are testing a certain bundle, and if so, we add an "extraIU" for it. 

Most recently done for bug 412886 but there's an older one in there, and I know of one case that would probably like it (when testing "git copyright adapter"). 

Seems there could be a general mechanism for the test bundle's test.xml to specify extra IUs (and repositories?) to install for its tests, then the overall test.xml file would not need "knowledge" of specific test cases.
