Description Christian Pontesegger CLA 2013-02-15 03:24:19 EST
I love to use the Search -> Text -> Workspace/... menu to quickly scan for the currently highlighted text. Unfortunately this is not really quick as it browses through all my workspace filess, including .class, .jar and so on (eg all the tyhco build products). It would be great to define some filters for file types to be excluded. Preferrably somewhere in the preferences.
Eventually tools like JDT, CDT, ... could register file extensions for their compile products there to keep them from being searched by default.

I know I could use the search dialog / File Search and define such filters. But this would make the shortcut entry in the menu useless.

Could be closely related to bug 86962, although I think this is a different one.

A bit more clicks, but working sets might help.
