If I check the "Enable watch/edit for this project"-checkbox in the project preferences - CVS, this should be stored in the .project file, so that I can check in the .project and someone else check it out, having the same preferences whithout adjusting this feature manually. It also would be nice, if I could configure at project level, that modifying a resource performs an cvs edit. Actually it depends on the global preference Team-CVS-Watch/Edit-"Configure projects to use watch/edit on checkout", that results in having the watch/edit feature checked in every project beeing checked out.
This is planned for 3.0. However, it won't be saved in the .project file since that is a Core specific file but there is a plan to create a metadata area within a project where each plugin can store there own metadata files (see bug 36965).
