Description Lance Zhang CLA 2003-06-27 11:08:23 EDT
I have a .java file on my hard drive. I want to view it using Eclipse like view
it using other editor and still see all the method layouts and keyword
highlights. I may need to copy and paste some code from that file after the
view.

But, I do not want to import this java file as a file in the project and I do
not want to see those compile errors if open that as a java file.

Thus, is it possible that Eclipse can offer this kind of view and offer an open
option in the file menu?

Platform/Ui has a 3.0 item to allow opening Editors outside the workspace.

Moving to platform ui
