This is a Request for Enhancement in IES 4.2.2. Let me know if I have to raise it differently . 

Text based search option in palette to search and filter tools..

What's a palette?  Is that related to GEF?

The palette in question here is a Diagram Palette, which is UI control that displays a set of tools to be used in conjunction with active Diagram editor.

Please find an attachment for better understanding

The enhancement requested here is to provide a text filter which can filter out 'tool' from the palette. This would be helpful in situations where there are too many tools in palette and user needs to scroll them through one-by-one .
