Description MorPheus CLA 2003-06-04 16:24:29 EDT
Need to add a menu item to the "open with" sub menu of the pop up
menu that arise when we right click in the resource navigator view.
I don't want to do it programatically.
I want to set it through plugin.xml.
I hope one way to do it is to use the editor extension point and associate
the particular extension with our editor.
But I have problem in doing so, I want my editor to come for all files
irrespective of extension, further my editor should not be the default
editor for the files that has already been associated with some other
editor.
A good example I can give is text editor. We can open any file with the text
editor using "open with" options in the popup menu but the text editor won't
be the default editor for the files that has some other editor assigned as
default editor.

I need to know how the text editor plug-in is able to act as default editor for
the file that has no editor associated with it. What is the technical procedure
that goes with text editor. If text editor plug-in is able to it then what is
the secret formula that they are following to do this.
Please explain in details

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
