Description Hwa Truong CLA 2003-05-29 18:46:08 EDT
Build driver: wswb 20030528
OS: RedHat Linux 8.0 Pro

Test case #: 02.38400

Description: In some panes, the mnemonic keys (control assist) does not
function correctly. For example, in the Ant Editor pane, Alt+w can work,
meaning when I click Alt+w, the 'Show print margin' check box will be selected,
if click Alt+w again, it will be unchecked. But some mnemonic keys such as
Alt+e, Alt+r, Alt+g can't work correctly.

Steps to recreate problem:
1. click Window -> Preferences.
2. In the left pane, expand Ant and select Editor.
3. In the right pane, click the Appearance tab
4. Attempt to use the keys

Comments:
-NOTE that this occurs for US English and is not a TVT specific problem
-This does not occur for Windows.

Should consider for 2.1.1
Comment 2 Tod Creasey CLA 2003-06-02 14:46:55 EDT
Removing the TVT listing as this is not an nl problem
Comment 3 Chris McLaren CLA 2003-06-03 10:55:04 EDT
this is not a key bindings issue. moving to SWT.
Comment 4 Felipe Heidrich CLA 2003-06-03 11:05:27 EDT
Hwa, can you explain it better ?
What do you mean by 'Attempt to use the keys' ?
For me, all the mnemonic are working correctly in this page: alt+w, alt+r,
alt+e, alt+g. The Tab key is also working fine.

There was another bug about mnemonic failing in the preference page, see
Bug#31009.

Tod, can you make this fail and show Felipe?
Comment 6 Felipe Heidrich CLA 2003-06-04 14:22:19 EDT
adding Tod to the CC list.
Comment 7 Hwa Truong CLA 2003-06-11 18:46:50 EDT
When I say attempt, I mean to use the mnemonic keys for that page. Sorry for
the unclarity.
Comment 8 Felipe Heidrich CLA 2003-06-23 13:08:17 EDT
Hwa, this works for me on build M20030613 (2.1.1).
Could you test this again on eclipse RC2 (2.1.1) and M1 (HEAD).

I'm pretty sure this was fixed by Bug#31009. I don't know which version of
eclipse is used by wswb 20030528 but you should not see this bug anymore.
Comment 9 Hwa Truong CLA 2003-06-23 13:52:57 EDT
This works for me as well. Thanks Felipe.
Comment 10 Felipe Heidrich CLA 2003-06-23 14:14:39 EDT
I closing this bug then.
