Description Bill Higgins CLA 2012-04-15 08:12:49 EDT
Build Identifier:

Mac OS X Mountain Lion is scheduled to ship in Summer 2012. One of its flagship features is "Notification Center", a central hub that notifies users of events from applications that register with Notification Center. You can read more about it here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/mountain-lion/features.html#notifications

Eclipse-based applications like the Rational Team Concert Eclipse UI use custom notifications to help team members be aware of each others' activity. As Mountain Lion becomes available, it would be preferable if these applications used the native OS Notification Center instead.

If the Eclipse platform made it easy to bridge to the Mountain Lion Notification Center, it would make life easier for both Eclipse plugin developers (who wouldn't have as much code to write) and users (who would presumably have a more consistent experience to bridge between their Eclipse application and Mountain Lion.

Reproducible: Always
