Build Identifier: Version: 3.7.2 Build id: I20110613-1736

For a long, long time, creating projects in Aptana has been an PITA, as it refuses without explaining why. After switching to Eclipse and seeing the same problem today, I decided to nail that one.

When trying to create, for example, a PHP project and selecting "Create project at existing location (from existing source)", Eclipse sometimes says "Invalid project contents directory" at the top of the dialog and refuses to let me click Finish. It turns out that Eclipse appears to simply lack permission to write the source directory. Simply changing the directory's owner allowed me to create the project.

This is just about giving proper feedback.

Reproducible: Always

After seven years of inactivity, I'm sure we can close this ticket. If the reporter has new information or wants to work on this issue, he should re-open this issue. Otherwise this is a case of WONTFIX and therefore should stay closed.

If you need more information, just ask.

WONTFIX is not about whether the reporter or anyone wants to work on the issue or not. Basically, WONTFIX rarely applies and it's best to leave it alone unless you know what it means.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
