Description Daniel B. CLA 2003-04-28 14:19:13 EDT
In the Eclipse Help System documentation, the HTML pages do not have normal
Next and Previous links.

This makes it inconvenient to read through a series of sequential pages.
Even if the last page in a group of sequential pages can't or can't
easily have a Next link to the first page in the next section, most
pages in the group can.

Closing. Unless we have a volunteer to add these links, it won't be happening.
The tree view on the left hand side provides adequate navigation.
Comment 2 Jody Garnett CLA 2005-05-19 17:49:30 EDT
I would agree with you, but we have done usability testing and end users do not
find the tree to be adequate.

Every single user failed to navigate pages, most tried the next/prev buttons. It
could be that the Eclipse project has a smarter class of users, but when using
the online help in a RCP context we are less lucky.

Try the following:
1. Open up Welcome
2. Select Over view
3. Select Java development

Try and explain why the "Basic tutorial" consists of one page.

*** Bug 56865 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 6 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2019-09-06 16:07:13 EDT
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
