Build Identifier: 20110916-0149 When creating a new empty mylyn task, the user should be able to drag a file (or multiple files) to populate the task's context tab with the files of interest. The user shouldn't have to activate the task just to add some files of interest to it. Reproducible: Always
glenviewjeff, how did you move this bug to Mylyn? You only changed Product/Component fields, but not Assigned To. The Bugzilla web interface should automatically check "Reset Assignee to default" when you change Product/Component, so this should work correctly out of the box. Could it be that you used the Mylyn Bugzilla editor and that one has a bug here and doesn't fix the assignee automatically?
Sorry about that Markus, I only used the bugs.eclipse.org website. I only changed it to Mylyn because I realized that was a more appropriate product/component. Yes, it's possible there's a bug in the eclipse.org site. Jeff
No problem Jeff. Thanks for confirming the steps. I filed bug 370075 for this bug in Bugzilla (or in our install). Moving this bug to Mylyn was correct, but you had no way to also set the right assignee.
Thanks for the bug report. That sounds like a good suggestion. The bug has been marked helpwanted though to indicate that we would be happy to support a community contribution to resolve it.
Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn
