Because the package viewer shows packages within a project as a flat list (and not as a hierarchy),
packages names have to be absolute and they contain the useful information at the end of the name.
As a consequence it is sometimes hard to locate a package within the package viewer
and/or one gets annoying horizontal scrolling.

It would be interesting to see whether the following alleviates the problems somewhat:
For all packages within a project a single common prefix (if any) is stripped off the package name.
For most real-world cases this will reduce the length of packages considerably and will help to move the
important information to the beginning of the package name thereby reducing horizontal scrolling.
