If I press and hold the delete key for a couple seconds within a long line of
text, the editor will continue deleting text for a second or so after I release
delete.

I've reproduced this problem in the Java Editor and Text Editor.

Please re-open if you can still reproduce this.  I set my keyboard repeat rate all the way up and could not make it happen, although it's not many releases since this bug was filed, and my machine is quite speedy.
