I20110603-0909 The Local History should allow to remove history for selected files or folders. I used the Eclipse text editor to edit a file with sensitive data. After I removed the file from its project (actually removed the link to the parent folder), the contents were still available via "context menu > Restore from Local History...". I found no way to remove entries from the local history. A good solution would be a button on the Resources properties page that allows to remove local history for the project/folder/file. Alternatively, the "Restore from Local History" dialog could allow multi-selection and offer a "Permanently Delete..." button. My workaround was to export the contents of the project, delete the project from the workspace, and then import it again.
I intentionally left the severity at Normal because I actually had to accept some more loss of data when I had to remove the history of 2 files.

Right, there is no way to delete sensitive data from the history. Of course you can keep saving content till you reach 'Maximum entries per file' :-)

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
