We should provide feedback for the attachments operation when the user is about to drop the file on the task editor. Similar to how GMail handles DnD of attachments: http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/drag-and-drop-attachments-onto-messages.html
That's nice. Sounds like a great idea to make DnD support for attachments more obvious.
As a desktop/native tool it seems to me that we should be using the native platform's support for indicating things like drop targets. This is a little subtle on Windows, but is consistent across all applications.
Given that regular DnD operations work on big consistent areas (trees, tables, text areas) the native behavior makes sense. But the task editor doesn't look like a regular drop target in my eyes.
True, it does not. But we do have the Attachments section, and it should be intuitive to drop things on that. I figure it's OK for the sections to have different drop behavior if needed as long as that's clear from the visual feedback.
