Description Chris Simmons CLA 2011-05-11 09:28:28 EDT
Build Identifier: M20100909-0800

If you build your project(s) outside of eclipse chances are you've got some auto-generated folders generated by the build process. These cause problems when they're inevitably modified behind eclipse's back, for instance the search->file dialog tends to error, ctrl+shift+r will find them, etc...

This is quite irritating. Its easy to fix setting the 'derived' preference to 'true' on the resource preferences page but this preference isn't, so far as I can make out, stored in the project preferences so you can't share it.

Lets face it, anyone checking out such projects are going to encounter the same derived resources so being able to share this setting per-project would be a boon.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set derived property on resource.
2. None of the project metadata is updated so you can't share it.
