Description Michael Graessle CLA 2010-11-18 14:29:07 EST
Build Identifier:

Currently, when executing a code template, the first instance of a variable is used to input that variable. It would be helpful for templates to be able to specify which instance is used for input.

A template like the following will currently not allow you to use proposals to select the value for id because the first id is within a string constant.

System.out.println("${id}: " + ${id});

I propose adding some new marker to the variable definition that when present would suggest which variable to use for selection.

Possible Examples of new syntax:

System.out.println("${id}: " + ${[id]});
System.out.println("${id}: " + ${!id});
System.out.println("${id}: " + ${id::input});

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce:
1. NA

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
