Description Eike Stepper CLA 2010-11-18 01:05:14 EST
Unlike all other editors in Eclipse (or Windows i general) the task editor (I use Bugzilla) doesn't react to my scroll wheel.

On Windows the focused control receives scroll events therefore this can sometimes appear as if it wasn't working. Shawn, can you verify that?

The scroll wheel seems to work for me. There are some controls (like the combos) that will scroll when they have focus, but in general, I don't have problems. Eike, is there a certain field in the Bugzilla editor that has focus when this happens? What happens if you click on some whitespace in the editor, does it work for you then?

Strange, although I was annoyed by this for a longer time already, now, I can not reproduce it. The only way I can make the scroll wheel be ignored now is when I clicked into the header pane before, e.g. a right click on the bug ID to copy the bug URL. But since this pane is fixed and always visible, I understand that this is desired behaviour.

Closing as worksforme. Sorry for the wrong alarm.

I now experienced this (again).

The scroll wheel does not work while the focus is for example on these controls:

- Summary (single line)
- URL (single line)
- Description (read-only)
- all Comments (read-only)
- Add CC (single line)

It does work on:

- Status Whiteboard (multi line)
- New Comment (multi line)

Eike demonstrated the problem to me. It seemed that the scroll events are not properly processed by the form. Interestingly it works on controls that manually process scroll events. Unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce the problem locally which makes it difficult to debug and fix. I have marked the bug as helpwanted to indicate that we would be happy to accept a contribution to resolve it.

Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1].

We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub.
