It would be nice if I could mark a view as appearing solely in one perspective, so that when I show it with a keystroke or a Ctrl-3, the perspective automatically switched. 

This bug is requesting a generic form of the switch that occurs when the Debug view opens, switching into the Debug perspective.

I don't want to specify a UI, but this preference could be kept in the context menu for the view. The user could right click on the view's tab, and would be able to select a perspective that the view should be trapped in.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
