Build Identifier: 3.6 Think about this question....What is the most likely file you will want to open in eclipse? 80% of the time, we are opening previously edited files that we sometimes close(in fact, this happens alot). It would be awesome to have a "changed files view" where it listed the same files that you see in synchronize view up to a point....in fact, whether you tie it to source control or not could be optional as there could be a reset button or something. I know switching between synchronize and java perspective is time consuming since it hits the server and a changed files view would rock for me personally. yes, this responsibility could be put on each and every source control system, but it is much nicer to have a view that each source control system could optionally plug into instead so that I could have it regardless of source control and just hit a reset button right after my commits. Just an idea. It later on could actually do more and try to keep the most visited and changed files near the top of the list too or to alphabetic sort as well. Reproducible: Always
Have you tried Mylyn? It gives exactly the same functionality as you described and even more. See http://www.eclipse.org/mylyn/
Szymon P. is right. Mylyn provides that. Moving the bug to UI. The feature should be added there, if we decided to have this feature in SDK.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
