Description Kiren Pillay CLA 2010-09-16 08:58:47 EDT
Build Identifier: SpringSource Tool Suite Version: 2.3.2.RELEASE

When searching all the projects in the workspaces, I searched for the string "4.0" in my pom.xml files. I used the file filter pom.xml and a file that had this string did not show up in the search results.

I don't think this is unique to this search, as I have experience this in other searches before, not just xml files.

I have to take the safer option and search using external tools. The search file in Eclipse is not reliable.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Difficult to reproduce as it is intermittent, and I cannot find the pattern.

I've marked this a major as it can lead to a lot of wasted develpment effort because of it.

I cleared the log and search again and found no errors.

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 AMD-64, ext4 file system.

and that search failed?
Comment 5 Dani Megert CLA 2010-09-16 09:31:50 EDT
Are the resources/files are inside your workspace directory or are some of the filed/folders linked in?

Sorry, but after all attempts to reproduce the problem on Windows XP and Linux failed. Also, we never got a similar bug in the last 10 years. Please try to narrow down the problem to a reproducible test case (you can also provide a workspace) and attach it here. We can then reopen the bug. Currently there's nothing more we can do here without more details.
