Created attachment 174350 [details] Screen cap of problem Our project creates a quick fix for some very long XML validation messages. When the user brings up the quick fix dialog it spans the entire width of my display. See the attached screen shot. I would have expected that the dialog would be no wider than the width taken up by the Eclipse UI itself. In order that you don't have to bring in WTP to recreate this problem I created an Eclipse only plugin that demonstrates this problem. To reproduce this problem please do the following: 1) In a blank workspace import the attached plugin. 2) Launch a second copy of Eclipse that uses this plugin. 3) In the launched copy there will be a menu action called "Create Project Action->Create". Click on this action. 4) Click Ok to the dialog that comes up. 5) This action will create a new project with a new file that contains a problem marker. 6) Open the problems view. 7) Select the problem for this created file and press <CTRL> + 1 to bring up the quick fix dialog.

Mm, I believe this is a general problem with the TitleAreaDialog.
>Mm, I believe this is a general problem with the TitleAreaDialog. See bug 223532, but it's easily possible to fix this in the Quick Fix dialog by setting the appropriate layout data.
Can you please provide an outlook on when this defect will be fixed. thanks.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
