Description Ed Burnette CLA 2003-02-15 15:29:32 EST
I'm trying to connect to a CVS server using the "ext" method, and the
default "rsh" command of Windows XP. The way we have the server set up, there
is an account name but no password. When using the standard Windows rsh.exe I
get the error "Unknown response received from cvs server: ok". If I run the
cygwin rsh.exe it work ok, so it must be some kine of carriage return/line
feed problem. The cvs server is running Unix (freebsd I think). So although we
have a workaround, this is an extra setup step for our users that it would be
nice to avoid.

This looks similar to bug 21180, except that I'm using ext and rsh and no
password.

Although differnt tools are being used, it loks like the root of the problem is
the same (i.e. the external communicatons tool being used is adding a CR or LF.
