Description Knut Radloff CLA 2003-02-12 16:20:31 EST
Bug 29446 requests feedback when a linked resource has a missing target
location (e.g., it points to c:\temp and that directory does not exist). A
linked resource can also be bound to a path variable that does not exist.
These two scenarios are similar and should probably have the same icon.

File name will be org.eclipse.ui\icons\full\ovr16\linkwarn_ovr.gif
Size should be 7x8, like the existing linked resource decorator.

Is it possible to get the icon by Thursday? Bug 29446 is marked with the RC1
milestone. The RC1 build is Friday.

Comment 4 Knut Radloff CLA 2003-02-20 11:03:39 EST
Thanks for the quick turnaround.
Is it possible to still have link context in the warning icon? The current icon
looks exactly like the Java warning icon. This may be confusing since the only
thing distinguishing the icon from the Java warning icon is the position in the
lower right corner vs. lower left.
Nick, I released the changes. If you want to try it just create a linked
resource with a non-existent target.
Comment 5 Nick Edgar CLA 2003-02-20 12:14:00 EST
I agree. Having some variant of the current link icon (e.g. make it red) would
be better.
Comment 6 Knut Radloff CLA 2003-02-20 15:40:41 EST
Only changing the color would be problematic for accessibility.
Kelvin sent an icon that is a combination of link arrow and warning shape and
color. That should work well.
Comment 7 Knut Radloff CLA 2003-02-20 15:56:49 EST
I released one of Kelvin's icons that is a combination of link shape (box) and
warning color/exclamation point. This is more recognizable as having to do with
links than the reverse (warning shape/link arrow).
