Sometimes, it happens that while working on one thing, user notices another easy-to-fix issue (e.g. NPE) and fixes it right away together with commit. Usually, noone bothers opening a bug for such little change. This makes the change invisible to others, e.g. testers, or other developers (unless they're tracking all commits). So it would be cool, if Mylyn could be used to create an issue in bugtracker and immediately mark it as fixed directly from commit dialog.
That sounds like an interesting suggestion. It does not fall into the core scope of the project though and due to time constraints we are unable to resolve it at the moment. The bug has been marked helpwanted to indicate that we would be happy to support a community contribution to resolve it.
Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn
