Description Susan McCourt CLA 2010-06-02 21:13:49 EDT
I promised in this week's platform UI status call to check the workbench user doc to see if there are screen snaps that have to be done due to the changes in bug 287887 (stop button on wizard dialogs) or bug 170956 (artwork changes for the progress view and tasks).

I did not see any screen snaps that show a wizard with a task in progress, so there is not hit associated with bug 287887.

For bug 170956, we need to fix the images used in
qs-responsiveUI.htm

There are also screen snaps of the entire workbench that happen to show a progress view icon with a completed task (the old "hairy thumb" with exclamation point). The view icon is incidental and not important to the concept being discussed, so I don't think we need to change these. (At least I am electing not to change these since I'm running win7 and the change in appearance will call more attention than the old icon). I'm listing the files here, however, since I took the time to check every single file.

fixed in HEAD >20100602.
I redid all of the dialog snapshots on that page so that they would look consistent within the page (win7).

>consistent within the page (win7).
FYI, http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Doc_Style_Guide specifies the default setup for screen captures which is Windows XP unless you explicitly want to show a Windows 7 feature. Also, John's N&N guidelines specify to use Windows XP screenshots:
Regular screen snapshots must be done using the default Windows XP Theme. Crop out any extraneous stuff to focus the reader's attention on your new feature.
The image should be no more than 519 pixels wide and in PNG-24 format (as opposed to GIF, TIF, BMP, or JPG) but if not explicitly needed
it is still better to produce 8bit PNG images.

I've changed res_build.png in the Platform Tips and Tricks to use a copy of the old icon in order to keep a consistent look in Tips and Tricks. Also, the new picture was too wide.

I'm aware of the style guide, I noticed a couple of other violations in the doc and made the decision that having up to date artwork on the progress page was worth the introduction of win7 (it's all I have, sorry).

that makes sense, thanks for catching that.
