Fields "Assigned to" and others which let you enter an email have "Insert My User ID" icon appearing in the end of the field. It is intended I suppose to improve user experience but catch this icon is akin to fishing:
-1. The icon is supposed to be at the end of the field but does not appear if mouse is entering the field there.
-2. The field is long enough for a user to lose sight of the label located on the other end. Is it possible to move the icon to be at the beginning of the line rather than at the end?

Here is an illustration for problem 1. If mouse enters to the field as the arrow shows then no "Insert My User ID" option is shown.

possible new UI

I have create a patch where the "Insert My User ID" icon is on the left side.

But this means that the text moves when the mouse enter/exit the text field. 

Thoughts?

For Mac OS i can not reproduce this.

Please tell me what Platform and OS you use.

-1 for moving the icon the left. It works fine on Linux but I believe there are some problems with the handling of the mouse events on Windows which make it more difficult to click the icon.

I am using Windows XP. I updated OS field of the bug.

I wonder if we should make the icon visible when the text box has focus?  This could help with this features usability.

It's mostly useful if used with the mouse. I find it gets in the way of keyboard navigation so it doesn't show on focus by default.
