The External Tools dialog that is opened from the Run... menu is cut off in
High Contrast
Comment 1 Tod Creasey CLA 2003-01-30 13:25:25 EST
This is also an issue for the Run dialog which I think is done the same way.
Comment 2 Darin Swanson CLA 2003-02-03 12:10:15 EST
Tod, what is the general mechanism for handling this?
Comment 3 Tod Creasey CLA 2003-02-03 13:29:30 EST
Usually trying to make the dialog more horizontal - we have a tendency of
making our dialogs too deep.

Also check that any height hints you are using are not causing this.
Comment 4 Darin Swanson CLA 2003-02-06 12:31:39 EST
Nothing to do with height hints.

We are following the SDK "standard" of putting list viewer modifying buttons
down the right hand side of the viewer. There is no way on 1024*768 with this
kind of layout to make this work. This would lead to some type of scrollable
button composite?
Comment 5 Tod Creasey CLA 2003-02-06 13:56:31 EST
Your basic positioning is fine but you could save some real estate by:

1) making your buttons horizontal instead of vertical
2) Removing spacers between widgets
3) Grouping more thingson the same line (like the location field on the common
page)

We did these sort of things when we had similar issues.
Comment 6 Darin Swanson CLA 2003-03-06 17:33:01 EST
Marking as LATER. Will reconsider when we know for sure what the requirements
are for HIGH CONTRAST.
Comment 7 Tod Creasey CLA 2003-04-03 11:42:36 EST
Still an issue at 1152x764 (the newer requirement).
Comment 8 Darin Swanson CLA 2003-08-29 14:44:40 EDT
Re-opening
Comment 9 Darin Swanson CLA 2004-03-01 18:45:36 EST
Nothing planned for 3.0
Comment 10 Tod Creasey CLA 2004-03-02 07:58:47 EST
If this is not done for 3.0 we fail the IBM checklist and Eclipse based
products may be rejected by government customers.. Why are you deferring?
Comment 11 Darin Swanson CLA 2004-03-02 08:19:10 EST
Time
Comment 12 Darin Swanson CLA 2004-03-22 18:06:45 EST
The remaining problem that I see here is on the JRE tab for Ant launch
configuration. The "executable" widgets cannot be made visible.
Comment 13 Darin Wright CLA 2004-05-25 09:55:26 EDT
Looking at the launch dialog in hich contrast mode, most launch tabs would
need to be reworked to have all controls visible.
Comment 14 Darin Wright CLA 2004-05-27 09:54:04 EDT
Do not plan to address for 3.0
Comment 15 Denis Roy CLA 2009-08-30 02:24:48 EDT
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
