This bug fix did not make the cut off for 2.1. We are deferring the bugs to Future where we can properly sort them all together and severity. And then assign them accordingly to future patch sets and releases.
JBoss don't allow to call isOpen() from injected, managed EntityManager. So the testing code just make the following changes: if(isOnServer()) { closeEntityManager(em); } else if(em.isOpen()) { closeEntityManager(em); } Code reviewed by Edwin Tang. Checked in trunk (2.2.0), the revision: 7959 and back port to 2.1.1, the revision: 7960
