The criteria server tests fail on a server with a JPA 1.0 container, as the server does not expose the criteria API to the client (i.e. the test). The tests should not be executed on a server with JPA 1.0 container, I think.

This depends on the deployment type.  Application Managed criteria tests should run fine but Container Managed criteria tests should only be run on certain Application Servers.

This falls under the set of tasks we are planning to improve our testing on 2.1.  Targetting for 2.1, but the solution here is likely to configure the tests to run in application-managed mode so JPA 2.0 features can be run on a JPA 1.0 server.

I am not aware of an option to "configure the tests to run in application-managed mode". How is this possible?

This bug fix did not make the cut off for 2.1. We are deferring the bugs to
Future where we can properly sort them all together and severity. And then
assign them accordingly to future patch sets and releases.

I have verified that the tests have already been excluded from running on JPA1.0 containers.
