Description Krzysztof Daniel CLA 2009-12-02 08:06:57 EST
Such functionality was present in Eclipse 2.0,
in Eclipse 3.3 perspective were stored in preferences (see bug 76850)

Now it is possible to use "Copy Settings" during workspace switch.

I'm not sure that I understand. It's most likely that users will 'Import' their desired perspective layouts into a particular workspace the first time that they open it so there should be no need to automatically do this when switching workspaces.

Perhaps I'm just misunderstanding what you want enhanced and what the enhancement should do...;-).

I think you understand the enhancement correctly ;-)

There is no problem if you 'just' create new workspace, but what if you
switch to different PC?

Then you should copy over the exported preferences store so that you can re-import it for -new workspaces- on the new machine.

If the user had copied over their actual workspaces then they won't have any issues since that WS has already been set up with the correct layout.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
