Description Philipp Kursawe CLA 2009-12-01 18:30:52 EST
Since everybody is doing his or her own UI thread synchronization over and over again I suggest adding such facilities to a final class JFaceSyncHelper. It contains various methods for synchronized updates of JFace viewers and other SWT controls.
The methods would take a parameter for the SWT control to check for its disposed state before checking the current thread and executing the given 2nd parameter Runnable either directly or async with the Display thread.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
