User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091109 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.5 Build Identifier: version 3.3.2 M20080221-1800 This only applies to Linux (I trie it on OpenSuse 11.2 and Ubuntu 0910) I have been creating new Java projects for year; this problem occurred in the last month. Main problem: I click on file->new ->java project (The wizard opens as usually) I enter a project name (I tried several lowercase strings and there is nothing in the workspace) I try and click on "Next" or "Finish" and nothing happens (I expect the creation of the project); the new Java Project frame just stays there To get out of it, I can click once on the "x" to close the frame, or on "cancel" (here I have to click twice, the first click is ignored). This, of course, blocks me. Circumstances: I have a dual-boot computer and the Windows version of Eclipse works fine (But I have problems there running my own software, Vista is too slow) I can access the windows workspace projects from Linux, but cannot edit the files permissions on the workspace directory on linux are classical (as user, I can read and write) Other write accesses from Eclipse may be malfunctioning too (e.g. in the same frame, if I try the button "create project from existing source", the "Browse" button fails to do anything; There is nothing on the "log" file under the metadata under my workspace ( I can send its contents if required) File-> new project ->project-> next also fails (the frame just stays there) Help would be very much appreciated. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download eclipse, extract, run 2. click on File->new->java project as described above 3. However, this used to work well for me until a month ago, as I wrote above.
If you use the keyboard to advance by using mnemonic keys or otherwise, does it work?
(In reply to comment #1) > If you use the keyboard to advance by using mnemonic keys or otherwise, does it > work? Dear Remy, Thanks for the impressively rapid and effective reply. As I am rather poor with keyboard shortcuts, I had not tried that before. It works, although rather clumsily. As far as I am concerned, the bug can be closed, I can go on using shortcuts. Should you wish to enquire this further, please let me know if I should carry out any tests and report. Ettore

Please refer to that bug for more information. Thank you. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 291257 ***
