The launch config details for root nodes (attached picture) is quite useless (besides the info which better belong to help/F1)as I cannot do anything with it. It should rather
- give more concrete details about the selected launch config type
- directly allow to create such a launch config

Just a thought.  
I wonder if this is where the launch configuration template should go?  Would it be useful if we allow the user to configure the template at the root node of a launch configuration type?

Yes, this could be a good idea, together with a button/link to create a new launch config.
