It would be nice to have the word emitter changed to export word 2007 docx files instead of word 2003 xml. Office 2007 OpenXML Format is an official standard. It can be openend in OpenOffice, and there is an import-plugin for word 2000-2003 provided by Microsoft.

Reproducible: Always

Hi maintainers,

Is there any news on this issue?

When emitting a .doc or .docx and opening it with Word 2016, it will open in compatibility mode once BIRT's Word emitter uses WordML XML format instead of Office Open XML.
