Bug 220240 introduced Apache HTTP client as a default one for ECF. This caused a change in behavior of ECF clients which in some circumstances lost the ability to authenticate on proxy servers using NTLM scheme, see bug 281472 and bug 252002 for details. There is a workaround for the problem described at: http://wiki.eclipse.org/ECF_Filetransfer_Support_for_NTLMv2_Proxies. This description should be more visible, I suggest to put it in the readme file. Please suggest more appropriate place if you find one. Since I'm not aware of any clients other that p2, the update might be located in p2 section. If such clients exist it can go to a more general category.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time.
