Description Del Myers CLA 2009-06-15 12:28:57 EDT
SWT is great for making standalone native apps, but it lacks one key feature for desktop/laptop development: the ability to change display modes for monitors. This is a key requirement for applications such as games. It would be great to leverage the features of RCP/OSGi for making flexible game engines, and SWT is the natural widget toolkit that goes along with these technologies.

I would be willing to contribute some code for the Windows platform, though it would have to undergo heavy review. I don't have enough expertise or testing machines to contribute anything for the other platforms.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
