Description Jochen Wiedmann CLA 2002-12-06 02:06:06 EST
Hi,

In Eclipse M3 I need the Ant view to launch Ant. I dislike yet another
view and would prefer very much to use the build scripts context menu.
Using the view is much slower and takes unnecessary window space and
memory.

Regards,

Jochen

Jochen,

The Ant view is not the only way to launch ant scripts. You never have to use
this view if you do not want to.

M3 was definately a transition build for the ant / external tools framework.
The context menu launching has been improved as has the launch history and "run
as" capability (including -find emulation). As well, the ant view has been
totally reworked.

If you could try out 20021204 integration build or next weeks integration build
I think it would give you a much better idea of the direction we are heading.

Ant/External tools is still evolving. As explained, you do not need to use the
view to run scripts.
